Dealing With Adult Acne
Adult acne usually occurs when you are 25 to 40 years of age. Some of the causes of adult acne are the same as teen acne. A few of these causes are hormonal, stress, and biology. Not too many people realize that adult acne is just as bad as teen acne, and it goes very unrecognized.
The hormones that create oil surplus clog the hair follicles, which is where the bacteria grow, causing adult acne. This type of acne is seen mainly in women due to the cycles a woman goes though during menstruation. Some birth control pills will help control acne in woman. Men’s acne is caused from the same problem with oil clogging the pores. Men also have their own type of hormones that act up and will contribute to having acne. Family history also has a lot to do with acne.
Acne is a fact of life and everybody gets some acne at some point in his or her life. As an adult with acne, your skin loses its elasticity and it becomes harder for your skin to heal from a blemish and can cause permanent scarring.
If you do not want to spend all your money at the pharmacy on acne cream or spend all the money on seeing a doctor, you can use low strength benzoyl peroxide. Benzoyl peroxide has a natural exfoliating action that gently cleans the skin. This, along with washing your skin twice a day can be very beneficial. |
